The Kitchen Café is now closed

After 8 years I have had to take the decision to close the doors to The Kitchen for good as it is no longer viable to keep trading. In my 40 years in the industry it’s the hardest decision I have ever made.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely customers who have supported us over the years, many of whom have become friends and, of course, the most important people of all – my fantastic team. They have become family to my daughter and I, and have supported us through all the decision making. You never know we may work together again one day, it’s been an absolute pleasure.

Downing’s Butchers Sausage, Bacon and Black pudding with roasted vine tomato, mushrooms, beans, and herb roasted potatoes, and a choice of eggs.

Toasted Sour Dough £10.99
Topped with crushed avocado, Tomatoes, Capers and Mozzarella and a pesto dressing.

Croque Monsieur £12.95
Toasted ham and gruyere cheese sandwich topped with a Dijon mustard sauce and melted cheese.
Add a poached egg £1.00

Salmon and Dill Burger £13.95
In a warm bun and topped with a homemade tartare sauce, served with fries salad and coleslaw. 

Baked Halloumi £13.95  V
On a bed of spinach, with tomatoes, chickpeas, roquito pepper pearls and pesto and topped with guacamole, served with a chunk of warm bread.                          

Butternut Squash and Beetroot Burger £13.95  V
Topped with melting goats cheese and chutney in a warm bun, with fries,
salad and coleslaw.

Home Cooked Ham £12.95
With a brace of free-range eggs and shoestring fries.

Smoked Salmon and King Prawn Platter £14.99
With a lemon and dill mayo, coleslaw, dressed baby leaf salad and a chunk of warm granary bread.        

2 Cheese Scones £9.95  V
Served with cream cheese and chutney.
Add a slice of home cooked ham or a chunk of cheddar cheese £3.00
